Credit Report Errors

A recent study conducted by the National Association of State Public Interest Research Groups (2004) found that 79% of all credit reports contain some type of error and up to 25% contain errors which could result in credit denials, increased interest rates, and lost employment opportunities.

Auto Fraud

There are several federal and state laws to protect consumers from the many deceptive practices used in connection with purchasing and financing an automobile. Different types of fraud that can occur during the sale or lease of a vehicle may include:

  • Bait-and-switch advertising
  • Odometer roll back
  • Selling a used car as new
  • Misrepresenting the condition of a car
  • Marking up the price of the vehicle to offset trade-in or rebate credits
  • Failure to deliver a clear title
  • Promising one interest rate, and then giving a higher interest rate
